In this second installment of The World According to Kary Mullis I bring you some quotes extracted from a video interview of the Nobel laureate scientist.
Keep in mind that Mullis died in 2019 and this is an old interview. He did not believe the emerging consensus at the time that HIV is the cause of AIDS, because he saw no evidence for it.
The number of cases went up exponentially because the number of tests that were done went up exponentially. How many doctors knew about HIV in 1983? Two. How many knew about it in 1985? About 500. How many knew about it in 1986? Forty thousand. So, that’s where the curve came from.
The scientists are the final arbiters of what is good for the planet and what is bad for the planet. And they haven’ got the slightest idea.
Instead of wearing white robes, they wear white lab coats. Instead of bringing you the word of God they bring you the word of the EPA, or whatever.
If a post-doc were to write a review of the literature that showed without much doubt that HIV was the cause of AIDS that guy would be famous. Now, there are 100,000 guys out there who have had this opportunity. Ten years have passed and we are waiting for this star post-doctoral fellow to distinguish himself forever and get a life-long grant from Tony Fauci but he hasn’t shown up.
These protease inhibitors, it’s the same thing. You don’t have to show that it helps the patient. You don’t have to show a single life saved. All you have to do is show some little clinical indicator that changed in a way that somebody is hoping will make you better.

Mullis never heard of a “novel coronavirus.” However, given his dissenting view on HIV, I think it is safe to say that he would have asked where is the proof that a novel coronavirus causes Covid.
Recently, there has been a declaration signed by 34,000 scientists and doctors that oppose the lock downs as a way to “stop the spread of coronavirus.” One wonders if many of the signers not only question the lock down policy but also the existence of a novel virus causing an existential threat to mankind.
